COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY

Collagen Induction Therapy  (CIT) is also known as Medical  or Dermal Needling. Pioneered by Environ Founder Dr Des Fernandes, this treatment uses tiny needles to penetrate the skins surface, resulting in bleeding. 

 

Who is a candidate?

Collagen Induction Therapy is suitable for all skin types and ages.  Ideal candidates are those who wish to slow the onset of the aging process, acne scarring, rosacea and skin laxity.  Smoothing fine lines and wrinkles is a want for everyone.

Before Treatment

It is important that you are preparing your skin with Vitamin A for 2 weeks prior to treatment. 

​

Advantages to skin needling

There is no damage to the skin and it protects the epidermis and promotes natural collagen synthesis.  

The needles penetrate the skins surface resulting in bleeding.  This releases the platelets which in turn release growth factors that renew collagen.In the dermis the fibroblast cells produce collagen, elastin and GAGS (glycosaminoglycans).

What to expect during the treatment?

The therapist will make sure you are comfortable and will begin to cleanse and sterilise the skin.  We will treat the face in sections with the needling.  After the full face has been done, we will then infuse peptides, that have a stimulating effect on the collagen, with our DF Machine, resulting in stronger, healthier skin. 

 

After the treatment

After the procedure the skin will feel sensitive and warm. You will be able to go back to work but it will look as if you are sunburnt.  We will recommend products to be used post treatment that will enhance the effects of the needling.

After care

No make up is to be applied for 8 - 12 hours after the procedure

No sun exposure for 12 - 24 hours

No excessive exercise for 6 - 12 hours

No hair removal for 2 days after

Cost and how many?

A course of treatments are 4-6 sessions, 1 per week/ fortnight, depending on what we are treating.

The cost per treatment  varies.         Time to allow is 2 hours per treatment

This includes CIT treatment and DF peptide Infusion.
